Last week I searched for "fully funded scholarships" again.
Within seconds, thousands of results appeared.
Scholarship websites.
Government portals.
University pages.
YouTube videos.
PDF guides.
AI-generated lists.
Blogs.
Social media posts.
More information than anyone could realistically read.
Then I stopped scrolling.
I asked myself a question that completely changed how I think about scholarships.
If so much information already exists, why do so many capable students still fail to prepare well?
That question stayed with me.
The answer wasn't what I expected.
The problem wasn't a shortage of scholarships.
The problem wasn't even a shortage of information.
The problem was something much less obvious.
Most applicants are solving the wrong problem.
The Internet Doesn't Have a Scholarship Shortage
Let's be honest.
Finding scholarship information has never been easier.
Every day, new scholarship databases appear.
Universities publish funding pages.
Governments announce international programmes.
Artificial intelligence can generate scholarship lists in seconds.
Search engines can find thousands of opportunities almost instantly.
Information is everywhere.
Yet many applicants still spend months feeling confused.
Some save hundreds of scholarship links.
Some bookmark dozens of websites.
Some subscribe to every scholarship newsletter they can find.
Many still reach application season feeling completely unprepared.
Why?
Because collecting information is not the same as preparing for opportunities.
The internet solved the information problem.
It did not solve the preparation problem.
I Stopped Asking the Wrong Question
For a long time, I asked the same question many applicants ask.
"Where can students find more fully funded scholarships?"
It seems like a sensible question.
But over time I realised something.
Every answer produced another list.
Another website.
Another database.
Another collection of opportunities.
The lists became longer.
The confusion also became bigger.
Eventually I replaced that question with another one.
